Project Management and Requirement Analysis
Pragma Edge employs a comprehensive Project Management methodology tailored to client applications. This methodology explicitly outlines the Project Manager’s responsibilities at every project implementation phase. This encompasses tasks ranging from pre-project readiness and planning to analysis, requirement validation, and post-go-live support. Moreover, it includes setting up assessment points in the weeks and months following the go-live stage to assess overall client contentment.
An essential element of project management involves the project team’s thorough examination of available as-is and to-be processed documentation, along with the corresponding requirements, for conclusive validation. This guarantees a unified perspective and encompasses:
- Evaluating process documentation to ascertain best practices.
- Scrutinizing and aligning the correlated requirements.
- Conducting a gap analysis.
- Precisely delineating the scope, deliverables, and milestones.
- Presenting an options analysis for identified functional gaps, including:
- Process workarounds
- Configuration adjustments
- Customization considerations

Change Management Approach
Pragmaedge recognizes that effective organizational change is most impactful when it originates from within. Our certified technical consultants engage closely with client project team members throughout the entire engagement. This active involvement of project team members results in a strong sense of ownership, a crucial factor that heightens the success of an implementation.
Drawing from extensive experience collaborating with businesses of various sizes and technical readiness levels, Pragmaedge stands out as an industry leader in guiding companies through the change management journey. Our comprehensive approach to change management ensures that your Maximo implementation is met with receptiveness and is executed seamlessly. This, in turn, guarantees the delivery of accurate data and favorable outcomes for your organization.
Recognizing that the success of a Maximo implementation hinges on effective communication with users and their readiness for change, Pragmaedge is committed to paving the way for a successful transition.
User Acceptance Testing
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) guarantees alignment between expected outcomes and user needs. Pragmaedge advocates a gradual UAT strategy. We collaborate closely with our clients to establish the testing procedure, structure of test scripts, prerequisites and duties concerning test scripts, as well as mechanisms for issue tracking.
Furthermore, Pragmaedge takes a proactive role in formulating the tests and offering means to oversee and resolve issues. Typically, clients oversee the testing process themselves, while Pragmaedge extends support and refinements for any identified elements requiring attention.

Data Conversion and Migration
Pragmaedge’s data conversion and migration process begins by collaboratively identifying client business data, making decisions about migration content, transformations, and pinpointing its current storage. This data originates from sources like legacy systems, user spreadsheets, or direct field input.
After selecting migration data, Pragmaedge thoroughly analyzes it by mapping it to the Maximo environment. To simplify loading via Maximo Integration Framework (MIF) and minimize repetitive setup, Pragmaedge provides efficient universal data-loading tools. These tools expedite mapping, execution, and monitoring via MIF, optimizing the data migration process.
Report Development
Report delivery encompasses more than just creating reports. Pragma Edge offers the following Maximo reporting services to clients:
- Identifying reporting needs across the system for all relevant users.
- Assessing existing reports to match reporting requirements.
- Analyzing report design and development.
- Converting reports between various reporting tools.
- Determining optimal methods for extracting valuable Maximo data on a per-case basis.
- Crafting KPIs or delivering data result sets using alternative reporting approaches.
- Providing report training for end users, developers, administrators, and managers.
Technical Tools
Pragmaedge has created several tools to streamline repetitive or time-intensive tasks linked to different aspects of Maximo technical projects. These tools are employed as needed during development tasks and are available for clients to use during project collaborations. After our engagement concludes, Pragmaedge can either withdraw these tools from the client’s environment upon request or leave them for the client’s ongoing use.
Maximo Architecture
Maximo Asset Management requires multiple software servers that are referred to as middleware. The middleware components can run on one or more computers. The components that are used in a typical Maximo Asset Management installation are illustrated in the following figure.
The essential elements necessary for an installation of Maximo Asset Management include:
Administrative Workstation: This workstation is utilized for the initial installation of Maximo Asset Management. Post-installation, it serves as a platform for making configuration updates and changes.
Database: The database stores comprehensive details about assets, encompassing their conditions, locations, and interconnected records. The IBM® DB2® database bundled within the product installation image is an option for storing this data. A list of supported databases is accessible through the system requirements in the Quick Start guide.
Application Server: Responsible for managing Maximo Asset Management’s JavaServer Pages (JSPs), XML, and business logic components. The software employs a Java™ 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) application server. The IBM WebSphere® Application Server software provided in the product installation image is available for use. Oracle WebLogic Server is also supported.
Web Browser: Maximo Asset Management applications are accessible via a web browser, either through a company network or the Internet.
Additionally, Maximo Asset Management supports the incorporation of these optional components:
HTTP Server: It’s possible to configure a dedicated HTTP server to collaborate with the J2EE application server.
Directory Server: A directory server like Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) can be configured to manage identity and authentication for the J2EE server.
