What to Expect from MAS Manage in Maximo Application Suite v9.0

With the release of Maximo Application Suite 9.0 this week and the end of support IBM Maximo 7.6.1.X coming up in September 2025, now it’s an ideal time to consider upgrading to take full advantage of the latest capabilities.

The Maximo Application Suite brings new functionalities, including Monitor, Health, Visual Inspection and Predict etc. These features are designed to optimize operational efficiency, enhance predictive maintenance, and improve overall asset visibility.

This blog will delve into the few benefits that MAS Manage offers to business users. We will discuss how MAS Manage can streamline asset management processes, increase efficiency, and provide deeper insights into asset performance. Whether you’re considering upgrading your current system or exploring new capabilities, understanding the benefits of MAS Manage in Maximo Application Suite 9.0 will help you make an informed decision and maximize your investment.

Additional Tools Now Included as Standard

Maximo Application Suite introduces several tools now included as standard, eliminating the need for additional installs or licenses:

  • Linear: Enables seamless asset definition, tracking, and maintenance using a linear reference system, ideal for Transportation, Utilities, and Telecoms.
  • Calibration: Crucial for industries like Manufacturing, Pharmaceuticals, Utilities, and Oil & Gas, ensuring precise measurement and equipment accuracy.

Additionally, Scheduler is now included as a part of the standard. Users with Base or Premium licenses can explore additional applications within the Planning and Scheduling module. These additions aim to streamline operations and support diverse industry needs effectively.

New Applications and Features in Maximo Application Suite

This new Maximo Application Suite introduces several new applications and enhanced features like

  • Work Order Summary
  • Inspection Form Builder
  • Dashboards
  • Maintenance Cost Roll Up

Work Order Summary: A new work order application providing an alternative view to the traditional work order tracking. It allows users to monitor work order progress, edit key fields, and take actions such as raising follow-ups and advancing workflow stages

Inspection Form Builder: Enhanced to simplify the creation of intuitive inspection forms for both desktop and mobile use. The revamped application streamlines form customization and deployment, enhancing usability across different devices.

Dashboards: Introduced in MAS 8 and further enhanced in MAS 9.0, Dashboards are interactive tools similar to Start Centres. They enable users to focus on specific data by switching queries and performing actions directly from the dashboard interface. Existing dashboards include Operational, Scheduling, and Dispatching, with new ones tailored for Engineers and Operators in MAS 9.0.

Maintenance Cost Rollup: Available in Manage, this feature facilitates the aggregation of costs (labor, materials, tools, services) associated with completed work orders for an asset. Costs can be aggregated manually or automatically to the top-level asset in the asset hierarchy

Integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) :

Artificial Intelligence Integration in Manage 9.0 represents a pioneering step forward. This version offers AI-driven features that recommend Failure Codes based on input data. Furthermore, the AI system identifies potential duplicate work orders and assesses first-time fix rates. This integration enables automated work order approvals by leveraging historical data and approval patterns within the Manage system, thereby streamlining operations and improving efficiency.

Reliability Strategies Add-On:

The Reliability Strategies add-on offers easy installation and provides access to a vast library of assets and potential failures across diverse operational contexts, curated by industry experts. This integration of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) into a unified platform streamlines maintenance processes, addressing resource and data challenges effectively.

By automating workflows and leveraging a comprehensive library of failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA) data, Reliability Strategies optimizes maintenance schedules to minimize costs and prevent equipment failures. This approach enhances uptime, prolongs asset life, and boosts operational efficiency. Users benefit from reduced downtime, decreased maintenance expenses, and a reliable, data-driven approach to asset management
